The phase transformations between gamma and alpha(2) in PM Ti-48Al-2Nb
-2Mn alloy during heat-treatment, particularly in the alpha + gamma ph
ase field, were studied and the microstructural development was assess
ed. Carbon and oxygen were found to increase the alpha transus tempera
ture and to affect the phase relations. A dual-phase structure and a d
uplex structure were formed and their formation mechanisms during heat
-treatment are discussed on the basis of the microstructural observati
