The performance dependence of a computationally efficient digital quad
rature demodulator on the number of filter coefficients for various fi
lter design methods is investigated. It is shown that an image rejecti
on ratio exceeding 100 dB can be achieved using a pair of finite impul
se response filters having six and five nonzero coefficients, respecti
vely.
