Av. Malyugin et al., METABOLISM OF 3-BETA-(2-HYDROXYETHOXY)CHO LEST-5-ENE AT THE INTRAVENOUS ADMINISTRATION TO RATS, Bioorganiceskaa himia, 22(9), 1996, pp. 717-720
The intravenous injection of 3 beta-(2-hydroxy-2-[H-3]ethoxy)cholest-5
-ene into rats with the cannulated common bile duct resulted in the pr
imary accumulation of radioactivity in liver (24%) and spleen (12%) ti
ssues, bile (7%), and blood serum (15%) after 3 hours. The distributio
n of 3 beta-(2-hydroxy-2-[H-3]ethoxy)cholest-5-ene throughout various
tissues was close to that of [C-14]cholesterol being administrated und
er the same conditions. The analysis of radioactive products from bloo
d serum showed that 40-60% of 3 beta-(2-hydroxy-2-[H-3]ethoxy)cholest-
5-ene was converted to the acyl derivative under experimental conditio
ns.
