Abstract
The effect of collector aspect ratio on the collector efficiency of up ward-type flat-plate solar air heaters has been investigated theoretic ally and experimentally. The theoretical predictions agree reasonably well with experimental results. With constant collector area, the coll ector efficiency increases with collector aspect ratio. Considerable i mprovement in collector efficiency of solar air heaters is obtained wi th air flowing over, instead of under, the absorbing plate. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd.
