Abstract
Rambouillets are being bred in the state of Jammu an Kashmir for more than two decades. The Rambouillets bred in the state produce lower fle ece due to genotype and environment interaction, Hence efforts are bei ng made to enhance the wool production of these locally bred Rambouill ets by crossing with Australian Merino (AM) males and to evolve a geno type, with higher wool production and survivability, which can later b e propagated in the area. Hence the present study was carried out to i nvestigate the influence of genotype and some nongenetic factors on th e wool production of the Rambouilletes and it's crosses with Australia n Merino.
