On the basis of experimental data for the sintering of nickel powder u
nder a regime of alternate isothermal and non-isothermal periods, it i
s shown that a mathematical model of pore volume decrease is capable o
f describing the process over the temperature range 550-900 degrees C.
It appears that in all cases both the time and temperature dependence
of pore volume shrinkage are determined by parameter-constants which
depend on the method of production of the initial powder.
