Three new neo-clerodane derivatives, scutorientalins A-C, have been is
olated from an acetone extract of the aerial parts of Scutellaria orie
ntalis subsp. pinnatifida. The structures of the new diterpenoids, 19-
acetoxy-6 alpha-isobutyroyloxy-4 alpha,18:8 beta,13S-diepoxy-neo-clero
dan-15,16-olide, (scutorientalin A); (11S)-11-acetoxy-8 beta, 19-dihyd
roxy-6 alpha-isobutyroyloxy-4 alpha, 18 epoxy-neo-cleroda-13-en-15,16-
olide (scutorientalin B) and (11R)-11-hydroxy-19-acetoxy-6 alpha-isobu
tyroyloxy-4 alpha,18:8 beta,13S-diepoxy-neo-clerodan-15,16-olide (scut
orientalin C), were established by chemical and spectroscopic means an
