A. Vetere et S. Paoletti, COMPLETE SYNTHESIS OF 3'-SIALYL-N-ACETYLLACTOSAMINE BY REGIOSELECTIVETRANSGLYCOSYLATION, FEBS letters, 399(3), 1996, pp. 203-206
Transglycolytic synthesis of 3'-sialyl-N-acetyllactosamine by sequenti
al use of beta-galactosidase from Bacillus circulans and trans-sialida
se from Trypanosoma cruzi was described. These reactions depicted the
first complete synthesis of a biologically important oligosaccharide w
ith high regioselectivity avoiding use of glycosyltransferases and NDP
sugars.
