Abstract
Ypaoamide, a new herbivore antifeedent metabolite, was isolated from t he extract of a mixed cyanobacteria assemblage which was composed of S chizothrix calcicola and Lyngbya majuscula. The structure was determin ed spectroscopically by interpretation of 2D-NMR experiments, includin g HMBC and NOESY, and by comparison with model compounds. Isolated cel ls of the L. majuscula produced ypaoamide in laboratory culture. Copyr ight (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
