The shear viscosity of Bi-Ga melts in the entire concentration range w
as measured using an oscillating-cup viscometer. The viscosity data we
ll above the temperature of phase separation can be represented by an
empirical equation of the Arrhenius type. The activation energies of v
iscous flow are given. In the vicinity of the critical point the visco
sity increases as the temperature decreases. This behaviour is analyse
d in terms of various models. The critical exponent y is found to be y
= 0.032 +/- 003.
