Abstract
The potentiality of interaction of ampicillin with beta-cyclodextrin ( beta-CD) was investigated by spectrophotometric and vapour pressure os mometric methods. The results revealed formation of a two-to-one inclu sion complex of the drug in beta-CD Complexation of the drug with beta -CD was found to increase both the solubility as well as the dissoluti on rate of the drug. On the other hand, assessment of bioavailability in human subjects depicted highly significant increase in both the rat e and extent of absorption of the drug.
