Abstract
Arthropod-borne viruses are important causes of diseases of the centra l nervous system. In addition to the tick-borne encephalitis viruses, other arboviruses in Europe are known to cause neurological disorders. Among them are West Nile, California group, Bhanja, Erve, Kemerovo gr oup, Eyach, and Thogoto viruses. The ecologies and epidemiologies of t hese viruses are presented and their medical importance as travel-rela ted diseases is discussed.
