Ia. Razilov et al., PH INFLUENCE ON LOW-FREQUENCY DIELECTRIC-DISPERSION - ENHANCEMENT OF ADSORPTION OSCILLATION, Colloid journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 58(4), 1996, pp. 509-514
Admixture counterions (for example, H+ or OH-) adsorbed in the Stern l
ayer may actively participate in the charge transfer between the diffu
se and Stern layers, thus resulting in mutual enhancement of the adsor
ption oscillations of common and admixture counterions under the mecha
nism described in [1]. As a result, low-frequency dielectric dispersio
n is increased. This effect may be expected to occur at high surface d
ensity of adsorption centers and moderate adsorption energy.
