The Fokker-Planck equation (FPE) was derived for the ensemble of the B
rownian particles in a viscoelastic fluid. Each particle was assumed t
o have rigid (frozen) dipole moment, through which the external field
affects the system orientation. An equilibrium solution of FPE was fou
nd. It was shown that the combination of particle inertia and dynamic
elasticity of a fluid provides a complicated contribution to the equil
ibrium distribution function, thus resulting in the essential distinct
ion of this function from the standard Gibbs distribution.
