Abstract
Neutral OH hydrogen-bond donors cannot form hydrogen bonds with the hi ndered nitrogens of 2,6-di-tert-butylpyridine and 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4- methylpyridine, but they are able to do so with the pyridine pi cloud of these compounds, giving very low pK(HB) values on the pK(HB) scale of hydrogen-bond basicity.
