The transport properties of a new solid glassy electrolyte AgI-Ag2O-P2
O5-MoO3 are investigated. The addition of AgI to the host Ag2O:P2O5:Mo
O3 system enhances the conductivity by almost three orders of magnitud
e. The density and glass transition temperature vary linearly with AgI
content. Studies with electrochemical cells have demonstrated the uti
lity of this material for technological applications.
