Om. Andryuschenko et Ai. Olesin, TREATMENT OF PAROXYSMAL SUPRAVENTRICULAR ARRHYTHMIA IN IHD PATIENTS AT HIGH-RISK OF COMPLICATIONS IMPOSED BY ANTIARRHYTHMIC THERAPY, Terapevticeskij arhiv, 68(5), 1996, pp. 57-60
Antiarrhythmic treatment (AAT) adjusted to the variety of arrhythmia a
nd risk to develop complications was given to 336 patients with ischem
ic heart disease associated with paroxysms of supraventricular tachyca
rdia (SVT), atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter. In the presence of
risk to develop AAT complications, the method of choice for SVT patien
ts is transesophageal pacing and impulse therapy. In the presence of a
rrhythmic collapse, cardiac asthma and pulmonary edema it is preferabl
e to correct arrhythmia by electric impulse therapy.
