Abstract
Lipid peroxidation estimated as thiobarbituric acid reactive substance increased with advancing age in the brain of male garden lizard. The degree of increase in the parameter was almost double in senescent pha se (middle-aged to old) than in maturation phase (young to middle-aged ). Partial water deprivation led to an increase in lipid peroxidation of the brain of young and middle-aged lizards. On the other hand, a si milar treatment to old counterparts caused a decrease in the parameter .
