W. Luder et al., INFLUENCE OF METABOLISM ACTIVATING DIETAR Y FIBER CONCENTRATES FROM RYE AND WHEAT ON POSTPRANDIAL BLOOD-GLUCOSE, Ernährungs-Umschau, 43(8), 1996, pp. 290
Healthy volunteers and type-II-diabetics received isoenergetic mixed b
reakfasts (362 kcal) without and with supplementation of soluble fibre
isolated from wheat and rye, extracted from milling products. Supplem
entation of 5.6 g soluble wheat fibre reduced postprandial blood gluco
se increase by 14 % in healthy volunteers and 10 % in type-II-diabetic
s. Addition of soluble rye fibre had no influence on the postprandial
rise of blood glucose.
