G. Grimaldi et al., FLUX DISTRIBUTION AND CRITICAL CURRENTS IN A ONE-DIMENSIONAL ROW OF AJOSEPHSON-JUNCTION SQUARE LATTICE, Physics letters. A, 223(6), 1996, pp. 463-469
We have numerically investigated the static properties of one-dimensio
nal arrays of Josephson junctions connected in a square lattice contai
ning a Josephson junction in each branch, accounting for self-field ef
fects by means of self-inductances only. The static distribution of a
single flux quantum and the critical current versus external magnetic
field are calculated for different values of the SQUID parameter B-L =
2 pi L(C0)/Phi(0) of elementary cells. The presence of junctions in t
he horizontal branches significantly modifies the static properties, s
o that the behavior is characterized by a larger effective SQUID param
eter.
