Abstract
The enthalpy of Gd5Si3, Gd5Si4, GdSi, and GdSi1.88 silicides is measur ed for the first time by the method of mixtures in the temperature ran ge 300-2230 K. The temperatures, enthalpies, and entropies of the melt ing of the silicides being examined, as well as those of polymorphous transformation of disilicide, are determined. The temperature dependen ces of enthalpy are derived from the experimental data and are recomme nded for practical application.
