L. Poissant et al., APPLICATION OF A NEW TELEMETRY AND REMOTE MONITORING DESIGN FOR AN AUTOMATIC ATMOSPHERIC VAPOR-PHASE MERCURY ANALYZER - PRELIMINARY-RESULTS, Environmental technology, 17(8), 1996, pp. 891-896
This paper shows the first known telemetry and remote monitoring desig
n for an Automatic Atmospheric Vapour Phase Mercury Analyser. The peri
pheral design and set-up are built to operate the Tekran(R) 2537A thro
ugh telemetry and remote monitoring. This design permits remote contro
l of some specific operations (zero/span, interference test, reboot, e
tc.) and the transfer of files from host to remote sites. The applicat
ions of this set-up permit easier monitoring facilities, real time dat
a acquisition, the use of the analyser in hazardous environments or in
remote areas. application are presented (e.g.- interference test and
gradient flux measurements). Such a design and set-up may be useful in
the operation of a national or international mercury network as well
as for research purposes.
