Abstract
Gigasperma americanum is described as a new species associated with Ce rcocarpus ledifolius from northern Utah. The species is characterized by large, smooth, globose to subglobose basidiospores with a basal por e which are produced on single-spored basidia. Species of Gigasperma h ave not previously been reported in North America.
