K. Nachtweyh et al., EMISSION-CONTROL IN HAZARDOUS-WASTE INCIN ERATION .2. GRANULOMETRIC ANALYSIS AND PHASE-ANALYSIS, Gefahrstoffe, Reinhaltung der Luft, 56(7-8), 1996, pp. 285-289
During the last years the standard of waste-gas purification in waste
incineration has improved considerably. Nowadays very low amounts (<5
mg) of stack gas dusts with diameters mostly below 1 mu m are to be ex
amined. As a result it is not possible to obtain satisfactory results
by conventional methods of granulometric analysis and phase analysis.
That is why new methods of analysis have been developed and results of
analysis of stack gas dusts from hazardous waste incineration are pre
sented in this article. These data can be of importance for the optimi
zation of plant parameters as well as for the determination of the pro
venience of harmful substances in the atmosphere. By the presented met
hod for granulometric analysis it is further possible to demonstrate t
hat dust is completely precipitated using the new kind of sampling fil
ters as described in part 1 of this work. By using methods of phase an
alysis it was possible to detect new phases which were unreported unti
l now.
