Abstract
Most of the research work performed so far on deposition gauges has de alt with situations in which their orifices are aligned with the preva iling wind and in which they are situated horizontally above a horizon tal ground. In this paper two-dimensional turbulent how simulations ar e carried out for the two more important practical situations in which the prevailing wind may be inclined to the plane of the orifice and t he gauge is located on an inclined surface. It is found that the angle of incidence of the wind to the plane of the orifice of the gauge con stitutes the most critical parameter affecting gauge performance.
