Abstract
H-1 and C-13 NMR spectroscopy has been used to analyze the stereoseque nce and the comonomer sequence microstructure in poly(vinyl formal) (P VF). The preparation method employed clearly has an effect on the func tional group distribution. The results reveal that the heterogeneous m odification method shows evidence for a blocky distribution of functio nal groups whereas samples prepared by the precipitation method exhibi t a random distribution.
