Abstract
Polarization modulation instability (PMI) has been utilised to generat e amplitude modulated light pulses where the modulation frequency is c ontinuously tuneable from 3.5 THz to 7.0 THz. ?The tuneability is achi eved by varying the tension in a low-birefringent single-mode fiber wh ich is wrapped around a spool.
