The paper describes the experimental investigation of the biplane Well
s turbine for use on a wave power plant. The performance of the biplan
e turbine was tested in unidirectional steady airflow by varying the m
odel configurations using solidity, gap-to-chord ratio, and rotor stag
ger angle. It was found that the gap-to-chord ratio and stagger consid
erably influenced the performance of the biplane turbine due to the mu
tual interference between the rotor planes.
