Abstract
In this study, unilamellar and multilamellar liposomes consisting of d ipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine, cholesterol and dicetylphosphate were p repared. Scanning tunneling microscopy images of these liposomes on hi ghly oriented pyrolytic graphite surfaces were obtained. It was observ ed that scanning tunnelling microscopy can be succesfully used for hig h-resolution, three-dimensional structure analysis of liposomes under very mild conditions.
