Abstract
DNase, an extracellular enzyme of Clostridium septicum, is a sturdy an d thermostable protein of molecular weight 45 kDa. The effect of this enzyme during plasmid DNA isolation was studied. It degrades plasmid D NA during isolation and Produces extensive smearing on the DNA prepara tion.
