Abstract
Starting from pure (S)-2,2'-bis(bromomethyl)-1,1'-binaphthyl, the synt hesis of a new chiral, enantiomerically pure dinaphthostannepin is des cribed. Preliminary reactions of this hydride with a racemic organic h alide under radical conditions gave the reduced product in up to 41% e nantiomeric excess, depending on the experimental conditions.
