Ma. Chapman et Re. See, THE NEUROTENSIN RECEPTOR ANTAGONIST SR-48692, DECREASES EXTRACELLULARSTRIATAL GABA IN RATS, Brain research, 729(1), 1996, pp. 124-126
Intracranial microdialysis was utilized to assess the effects of the n
ovel neurotensin antagonist SR 48692 on extracellular gamma-amino-buty
ric acid (GABA) and glycine in the striatum. Subcutaneous injection of
SR 48692 (0.2 mg/kg) significantly decreased extracellular striatal G
ABA levels, with peak decreases occurring 2-3 h post-injection. Inject
ion of SR 48692 had no significant effect on glycine levels. These dat
a suggest that endogenous neurotensin may modulate striatal GABA level
