Abstract
Attempts to perform economic reviews of randomized controlled trials f requently lack a systematic approach. This conclusion is consistent wi th the findings of previous analyses of review articles in other field s, which have highlighted the failure to apply the same degree of rigo r to this type of research synthesis that the scientific community has come to expect from primary research articles.
