In recent years substantial experimental and theoretical progress has
been made in our knowledge of the thermodynamic and kinetic behaviour
of domain boundaries and interfaces in order-disorder transitions. Rec
ent advances include quantitative studies of this behaviour at equilib
rium of domain walls close to a phase transition and numerical simulat
ions of the kinetics of ordering reactions and microstructural evoluti
ons.
