Abstract
Longitudinal surface cracks are still likely to occur on CC slabs of 0 .08-0.12 % C steel. A reduction in the longitudinal crack ratio has be en obtained mainly thanks to an optimization of the thermal exchange t hrough the mould and lubrication conditions. An instrumentation of the mould has been used to evaluate the different solutions proposed for industrialization.
