The coupling between the nuclear shape dynamics and the internal degre
es of freedom is investigated in the frame of a time-dependent Hartree
-Fock-Bogolyubov Langevin formalism. The shape coordinate considered h
ere is the quadrupole deformation, and the internal configuration spac
e is restricted to the sd shell. The numerical results concern the eff
ects of pairing, dissipation, and temperature on the giant quadrupole
shape vibration of Si-28. Time scales for decay, thermalization, and co
nfiguration transitions are obtained.
