Vn. Shilov et Yb. Borkovskaya, LOW-FREQUENCY DIELECTRIC-DISPERSION OF CONCENTRATED SUSPENSIONS OF PARTICLES WITH A THIN ELECTRICAL DOUBLE-LAYER, Colloid journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 56(5), 1994, pp. 647-652
The low-frequency dielectric dispersion of suspensions of monodisperse
nonconducting spherical particles was calculated. Particles with a th
ickness of the electrical double layer less than the size of the parti
cles and the distance between them were considered. No restrictions on
the magnitude of surface conductance were imposed. The application of
a cell model enables one to go beyond the scope of a linear (in volum
e fraction of particles) approximation and to analyze the influence of
the value of the volume fraction on the low-frequency limit of permit
tivity, the critical frequency, and the shape of dispersion curves.
