Vl. Kolmogorov et al., FRICTION AND WEAR MODEL OF A HEAVY-LOADED SLIDING PAIR .2. APPLICATION TO AN UNLUBRICATED JOURNAL BEARING, Wear, 197(1-2), 1996, pp. 9-16
This mathematical friction and wear model is based on a concept of mic
rogeometry of contacting surfaces of friction pairs assuming a suffici
ently hard journal, an ideally plastic soft bush, flow of lubricant in
the ''porous'' space between rubbing surfaces, and the theory of frac
ture of metals caused by plastic deformation near microirregularities.
The authors give a complete system of relations, their solution algor
ithms and results of test calculations made by corresponding programs.
The mathematical model and its software product can serve as an integ
ral part of a computer-aided design of sliding bearings.
