The conservation of parchment manuscript 8 degrees 2238 was undertaken
in 1985 by the Department of Conservation and Restoration of the Jewi
sh National and University Library, Jerusalem. The procedure included
conservation of damaged parchment leaves, consolidation of the fully d
isplayed carpet pages with modified parchment size, reconstruction of
the sewing structure, and conservation of the binding. The whole proce
dure was re-examined after ten years and both the methods used and the
condition of the manuscript were found to be satisfactory.
