M. Welch et al., SITE-BASED TRANSDISCIPLINARY EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS - DEVELOPMENT, IMPLEMENTATION, AND OUTCOMES OF A COLLABORATIVE PROFESSIONAL PREPARATION PROGRAM, Journal of educational and psychological consultation, 7(3), 1996, pp. 223-249
In this article, we describe the conceptual framework, development, im
plementation, and outcomes of an experimental professional preparation
program. University students from preparation programs in general edu
cation, educational administration, school psychology, and special edu
cation formed transdisciplinary cohorts that were placed in school set
tings to complete a variety of activities designed to foster greater c
ollaboration among disciplines in serving children and youth at risk.
We describe what was learned throughout the project as well as its ope
rational structure, outcomes, and future directions for transdisciplin
ary professional development.
