U. Rogulis et al., DEGRADATION FEATURES OF BAF2 SCINTILLATORS UNDER RADIATION AND MAGNETIC-FIELDS, Physica status solidi. a, Applied research, 156(2), 1996, pp. 515-522
Degradation features of BaF2 scintillators have been examined in combi
ned gamma- and n-radiation and strong magnetic fields. Created radiati
on defects have been investigated by optical magnetooptical, and ODMR
techniques. It is shown that the magnetic field has no selective actio
n on defects of different structure. The magnetic field slightly dimin
ishes the efficiency of creation of impurity color centers. The decrea
se of the creation rate at a magnetic field of B = 1T does not exceed
10%. The nature of these radiation defects in BaF2 scintillators obtai
ned by different technologies is discussed.
