The Bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations (BSES) is the principal resear ch development and extension (R,D&E) organisation in the Australian su gar industry, An overview of the history and current activities of BSE S is outlined, including cane variety improvement, crop protection and management, irrigation, agricultural engineering and milling.
