Abstract
Recovery of lung function following the acute respiratory distress syn drome (ARDS) is thought to be related to the severity of the initial i nsult. We report a case demonstrating virtually complete functional re covery following severe ARDS. The significance of this and the need fo r comprehensive follow-up of such patients is discussed.
