The ability to create unique nanoscale structures and to control the m orphology of those structures with external fields (such as shear) has led to a blossoming of interest in block copolymer solutions and melt s. The interrelations between shear history, morphology and rheology a re actively being explored using experiments and computer simulation, although much remains to be done. Indeed, recent diffusion and rheolog y experiments indicate that even the disordered phase of these materia ls is not really understood.
