184 ischemic heart disease (IHD) patients, all males, were investigate
d before, one month and one year after coronary artery bypass grafting
. Significant changes in central hemodynamics and in exercise toleranc
e were noted in the course of rehabililation. These were more signific
ant in patients with multiple atherosclerosis lesions of the coronary
bed whereas clinical effect was more favourable in patients with favou
rable course of IHD. The above trends in hemodynamics, exercise tolera
nce and clinical symptoms following surgical revascularization were ob
served during the first 6 months.
