Abstract
A higher incidence of Bacillus cereus was recorded in about 300 sample s of a variety of food products. The distribution pattern of B. cereus was 46% in uncooked rice, 30% in pasteurized milk. 28% in cooked rice , 24% in cooked vegetables, 20% in spices and 12% in raw pulses. A maj or population of the isolates tested was haemolytic. The antibiogram p attern indicated a higher resistance of isolates against ampicillin, t rimethoprim, colistin, rifampicin and nitrofurantoin.
