Abstract
This paper will deal with the problems that arise when physically larg e systems, such as a digital switching exchange for high speed broadba nd applications, must be tested in order to comply with the EN 55022 s tandard for radiated emission, Simple closed formulas to predict radia ted emissions from elementary sources, such as tracks in PCB's, cables , and small apertures, are outlined with their limits of application a nd verified by measurements, An analysis of the radiation patterns of simple structures and complex systems is also given.
