Abstract
The authors report novel power splitters using angled multimode interf erence couplers, that allow free selection of the power splitting rati os. Realised in silica on silicon throughout the 1.55 mu m wavelength range, the splitters permit polarisation independent control of the po wer splitting ratios to within +/-2%.
