Abstract
Three-dimensional parabolic equation algorithms based on Pade finite d ifference schemes are used in combination with models for the scatteri ng and diffraction of radiowaves by buildings. The Pade (1,1) scheme a llows easy input of non-homogeneous boundary conditions, while the Pad e (2,1) scheme has very good stability properties which can deal with discontinuities in the initial field, For example at building edges. E xcellent agreement with physical optics calculations is obtained.
