Abstract
Primary antiphospholipid antibody syndrome is characterized by intraut erine fetal death and arterial and/or venous thrombosis. The clinical course of a 37-year-old pregnant woman with a history of eight previou s miscarriages is presented. By application of intravenous immunoglobu lin (Venimmun(R) Behringwerke Marburg/Lahn) a successful pregnancy cou ld be accomplished. Diagnosis, immunologic pathomechanisms, possible t reatment modalities as well as the obstetric management of this autoim mune disease will be discussed.
